Every agency promises growth. The useful question is whether it can deliver growth for a business like yours, and whether you will know if it is working. These ten questions separate a credible partner from a good pitch deck.
- Who will actually do the work?
Ask for names, roles and where each person is based. Agencies that outsource everything often hand your account to a new team halfway through. - Can you show results for brands like mine?
Ask for case studies that explain the problem, the approach and the outcome. A case study with no numbers can still be useful if the story is clear and specific. - How is my ad budget handled?
Ask whether ad spend is paid directly by you to Meta or Google, or routed through the agency. Direct payment means you see every rupee in your own account. - What exactly is in the monthly fee?
Ask for the list: how many reels, posts, keyword clusters, reports and calls. “Unlimited” promises usually mean limited attention. - What is the minimum commitment and the exit terms?
Most real digital work needs at least three months to show results. Check notice periods, who owns the accounts, files and content, and what happens when you leave. - Do they guarantee rankings or viral reels?
Walk away. Google controls rankings and platforms control reach. Honest agencies commit to work, reporting and a plan, not to outcomes they cannot control. - What reporting will I get, and how often?
Monthly is the minimum. Good reports show reach, engagement, enquiries, cost per lead and what changes next month, in plain language. - Can I check their reviews?
Read their Google Business Profile reviews and ask a few past clients directly. Real customer reviews say more than testimonials on a homepage. - How do they communicate?
One point of contact, a response-time promise and a clear meeting rhythm matter more than a polished presentation. - What is the total cost, in writing?
Ask for the full cost, including onboarding fees, travel, shoots and ad spend, so you can compare like with like.
Red flags to watch for
- Guaranteed first-page rankings or “viral” outcomes
- No written scope, or a scope that changes every call
- “Secret” techniques or shortcuts that they will not explain
- Pressure to pay everything upfront
- No access to the accounts they run for you
- Reluctance to let you own your website, domain or content
